Bike competence
Host Andreas Koller takes care of everything that has to do with motorcycles and is currently driving a Kawasaki Er-6n himself. Our house is situated directly at the Hochkönig street, a dreamlike motorcycle route with many curves and a wonderful panorama. Since autumn 2013 we are proud member of the MoHo – Motorcycle hotels.
Andi has now worked out 17 tours for our guests. In addition to description and GPS data for the navigation system, he has done all tours with his helmet camera and documented them with photos of crossings, passes and sights worth seeing. He prefers to travel around our local mountain, the Hochkönig. He has put together the “King’s Tour”, for this purpose. The “Postalmstraße” and the “Rossfeld Panorama Straße” are two beautiful mountain roads. The Königssee is suitable for a leisurely stopover.
The Hochkönig Region – from Pongau via Pinzgau to Berchtesgaden
The Hochkönig is located in the “Salzburger Land” in the heart of Austria and stretches over the Pongau and Pinzgau up to the “Berchtesgadener Land”
The Hochkönig is a massif of the Berchtesgaden Alps and belongs to the Salzburg Limestone Alps. The Hochkönig massif with a height of 2941 m is described by many as one of the most beautiful mountain ranges of the Eastern Alps.
At the foot of the Hochkönig are three villages located: Mühlbach, Dienten and Maria alm. These three places together form the Hochkönig region. The villages are connected by the Hochkönig main road. This route is considered by the mighty Hochkönig as scenery and the winding route as a very popular motorcycle route.
The Hotel-Restaurant Lederer is the perfect starting point for tours in all directions. In the north the “Berchtesgadener Land” is perfectly suited for a circumnavigation of the Hochkönig. To the east are the “Salzkammergut” and the “Dachstein” with breathtaking lakes and winding passes. To the west, the “Gerlos Pass” and the “Pass Thurn” are popular tours to Tyrol. The highlight are of course the tours in the south with “Großglockner” and “Nockalm Tour”.
