Summer in „Mühlbach am Hochkönig“ – a paradise for mountain lovers
In summer, the Hochkönig region is a true paradise for all hikers and mountain lovers. Hiking trails of all levels of difficulty offer something for everyone. Whether you want to enjoy the clear mountain air during a walk or are looking for a challenging mountain tour, here with us you will find what you are looking for. A special highlight for all mountaineers and climbers is the “Königsjodler”, which is the most difficult via ferrata in the Hochkönig massif and is known far beyond the national borders.
“Griaß di” – traditional huts an alpine pasture
A large number of managed huts and alpine pastures, where events always take place, such as alpine driving down, mountain fairs, musical hikes and much more, ensure a cosy atmosphere. Enjoy homemade products from the region such as bread, bacon, cheese and a good, healthy “Schnaps”.
E-bike region Hochkönig
No mountain too high – no way too far with the e-bike. Discover the mountain world around the Hochkönig with the electric bike. It is the first region in the world which has a perfect e-fuel station network on the mountain and in the valley. The 113 km eMTB routes lead you through Maria Alm, Dienten and Mühlbach. You can load your e-bike directly at our hotel at our e-gas station.
Great destinations for the family
With our location in the heart of the Salzburger Land, we are also ideal starting point for excursions throughout the country. Nearby are the “Eisriesenwelt”, “Hohenwerfen Castle”, the salt mine and the Lichtenstein Gorge. The city of Salzburg can also be reached from Mühlbach in less than an hour.
